Bangles have been traced back to early civilizations like the Mayan and Incas, but the discovery of bangles is often traced back to Mohenjo-Daro, Pakistan over 5,000 years ago. Other ancient civilizations such as the Sumerians, Egynptians, Greeks, Romans and Chinese, a fact made even more interesting since according to what we know today these cultures never had contact with each other. In modern history, the bangle plays an important role in Hindu weddings as its symbolism is integral to the bride. On many occasions, if the nagle ritual is not performed at the wedding, the marriage is not truly valid. Today, we know that almost every major fahsion designer has designed bangles for their collectino at one time or another, and can assume that bangles will last the test of time when it comes to accessorizing and fashion trends.
